Following Daniel earning his Private Pilot license in December 2025, we planned a family dinner flight to celebrate.

Daniel and I drove out to West Jordan (KSVR) to pick up the airplane and repositioned it over to Tooele Valley Airport (KTVY), where we loaded up Julie and Taylor for the flight west.

Dinner at the Salt Flats Cafe

We flew west across the desert to Wendover (KENV). The Salt Flats Cafe is located just a quick five-minute walk from the airfield ramp, making it a perfect fly-in dinner destination for the family.

Practice Approach & Drop-Off

On the leg back east, Daniel took the opportunity to fly a practice instrument approach into Tooele (KTVY). After touching down and dropping off Julie and Taylor, we hopped over the ridge back to West Jordan (KSVR) to tuck the plane away, wrapping up a memorable family flight.
